Pilot Project: “From the School to the Concert”

The Munich Philharmonic in collaboration with the education division of the City of Munich will be launching a unique project. Throughout the school year staff members and musicians from the Munich Philharmonic will regularly visit a 3^rd grade class, The objective is to make it easier for the children to familiarize themselves with classical music. In a play situation, the children will explore questions like “How does someone become a musician?” “Who and what are needed to make a concert function?” At the end of the school year, visits to rehearsals and concerts will form the conclusion of the project. Once the pilot phase is completed, the project will be expanded to include several different grades and types of schools.
