The Society of Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic

Art and culture need financial support – become a friend or patron of the Munich Philharmonic and help secure the existence of a living, top-class orchestral culture!

The Society of Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic, founded in 1983 by music-loving, devoted friends of the orchestra, now numbers over 400 members and makes a major contribution to the cultural landscape of the State Capital of Munich.

What Do the Friends and Patrons Do?
This non-profit association promotes the Munich Philharmonic's artistic activity by supporting a variety of projects, often making these projects possible in the first place. These range from the acquisition of valuable musical instruments to scholarships for the Orchestra Academy.

A Success Story Since 1997:
The funding, promotion and expansion of the Orchestra Academy is the greatest success of the "Friends and Patrons" since it came into existence. Here, young talented musicians get an opportunity to enhance their training in actual practice and prepare their entry into professional life.
