Born in Trinidad, Jeanine de Bique studied voice at the Manhattan School of Music, from which she graduated with a concert diploma in 2009. She then honed her skills in master classes with Renée Fleming, Marilyn Horne, Catherine Malfitano, Thomas Hampson and Mirella Freni. She successfully participated in a number of competitions, most recently winning the Arleen Augér Prize at the International Singing Competition in ?s Hertogenbosch.
Jeanine de Bique made her début as a concert singer as a prize winner at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions with a recital at Merkin Concert Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington. She acquired experience on the operatic stage with such companies at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the Chautauqua Music Program, where she performed the title role in Monteverdi?s ?L?incoronazione di Poppea? among other assignments. During the 2009/10 she was engaged at the Theatre in Basel as artist in residence. There she sang roles like Kate Pinkerton (?Madama Butterfly?), Barbarina (?Le nozze di Figaro?) and Sophie (?Werther?). Throughout the 2011-12 seasen Jeanine De Bique ist a member of the Staatsoper Wien ensemble.
She made her début with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Lorin Maazel in 2009 as a soloist in Mahler?s 8th Symphony.
