Born in Paris, Vincent Aucante was trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and graduated with first prizes in viola and chamber music. Over the following two years Vincent Aucante successfully attended master classes with Bruno Pasquier and Jean Mouillére, At the "Jean Françaix" International Competition for Viola he was awarded a first prize and received the "Ravel" Prize from the Académie Maurice Ravel.
Vincent Aucante has been invited to perform at the most important French festival, such as La Folle Journée de Nantes, Les Flâneries de Reims, L?Orangerie de Sceaux, Le Festival Berlioz, Le Festival de L?Emperi. He has collaborated with such renowned French artists as Jean Mouillière, Bruno Pasquier, Régis Pasquier, Beatrice Uria-Monzon, Alexandre Tharaud and Paul Meyer.
Vincent Aucante has appeared as soloist in the major works for solo viola and orchestra, among other venues, in the Grand Hall of the Cité de la Musique, the Salle Pleyel and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. Chamber music projects and invitations to perform as soloist have taken him to England, Germany, Spain, Japan, Korea, China Hong Kong, Thailand and Cambodia. As a member of the quartet formation ?Gabriel? and ?Via Nova? Vincent Aucante has taken part in a number of discographic recordings.
Before becoming the principal violist in the Munich Philharmonic he held the same position in the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
