What subscriptions are available?
We offer 10 different subscription series’ with orchestral concerts in the Philharmonie and a chamber music concert series with concerts in the Künstlerhaus on Lenbachplatz. Apart from Subscriptions h5 and k5, all the subscription series’ comprise 8 concerts, 2 of which are conducted by GMD Christian Thielemann. With the h5 subscription, you can attend 5 concerts with Christian Thielemann. There are subscription series’ with fixed days of the week, such as Subscription d with 8 concerts on Saturday evenings and subscriptions with changing dates, such as Subscription f.
What are my benefits?
You save 20% (with the exception of Subscription h5) as compared with the purchase of individual tickets as well as the advance sale charge. In addition, as a subscriber you receive 5 or 6 transferable discount vouchers for 20% off on further Munich Philharmonic concerts. The subscription tickets (as well as the individual tickets) entitle the bearer to travel on the MVV public transportation lines throughout the service area free of charge on the day of the event. The trip to the concert may not start before 3:00 P.M. or, in the case of concerts starting before 6:00 P.M., three hours before the concert The return trip must be completed before the end of the day’s transport services.
What if I can’t attend a subscription concert?
Your subscription is transferable! But if you would rather not miss the concert program, you can exchange the date within the same subscription series up to two times during the season (exception: special concerts with higher prices and benefit concerts). To make the exchange, the subscription ticket must be presented at the subscription office prior to the concert in question. For further exchange options, you can take advantage of our on-line ticket exchange. Of course you are free to sell the ticket, but only if the price requested does not exceed the price printed on the ticket.
Can I switch to another subscription series?
A switch to another subscription series is only possible for the new season. Change requests should be submitted in writing to the subscription office prior to April 1.
How can I get different seats within my subscription series?
A change of seats is only possible for the new season. Please submit your change requests by April 1 to the subscription office. You will then be advised of your new seats.
What do I do if I have misplaced my subscription ticket or forgotten to bring it to the concert?
No problem. You can have an individual substitute ticket issued at the evening box office before attending the concert (fee € 1.00 per individual substitute ticket). Should you have lost your subscription ticket, you can also have a substitute subscription ticket issued at the subscription office (fee: € 2.50 per subscription ticket).
Will my subscription be automatically renewed?
The subscription is always purchased for one concert season. It is automatically extended by one concert season if the subscriber or the Direction of the Munich Philharmonic do not cancel it in writing prior to April 1 of the current season,.
When are the subscription tickets sent?
Because of the large number of subscribers that we have, sometimes there are delays in sending out the subscription tickets. For this reason, we ask you to be patient! In August at the earliest, at the latest however one week before the first concert in your subscription series, the tickets will be sent out, of course only if we have received the invoice amount.
