In solidarity with the Ukrainian victims and those suffering as a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine, which violated international law, Anne-Sophie Mutter, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Bavarian State Orchestra will give a joint benefit concert at the Isarphilharmonie on 8 March at 8 pm.
The concert from the Isarphilharmonie will be broadcast live on radio on BR-KLASSIK and time-delayed on Saturday, 12.3. at 8:15 p.m. on video stream on BR-KLASSIK CONCERT. Television broadcasts will take place on Saturday, 12 March at 8:15 pm on 3sat and on Sunday, 13 March at around 9:45 am on BR Fernsehen.
This evening's orchestra is made up of members of Munich's three major symphonic orchestras, with Anne-Sophie Mutter as soloist and Lahav Shani conducting. The programme includes the 5th Symphony and the Violin Concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven.
100% of the proceeds from the concert will go to the Save the Children organisation, and all participating artists will waive their fees. Save the Children has been active in Ukraine since 2014 and provides important humanitarian aid for children and their families. More information at savethechildren.de
