Als Teenager war MARIE JACQUOT auf dem besten Weg zum Tennisprofi. Dann entschied sie sich doch für die Musik, studierte Posaune und Dirigieren. Von den Erfahrungen als Leistungssportlerin profitiert die designierte Chefdirigentin der Königlich Dänischen Oper bis heute. Auf eine Klang-Exkursion in den Wald führt uns die norwegische Komponistin Kristine Tjøgersen mit ihrem atmosphärischen Orchesterstück »Between Trees«. Ein naturalistisches Programm plante Sibelius in einem frühen Entwurf zu seiner ersten Symphonie zunächst auch, verwarf dann aber sämtliche programmatischen Ideen. So wurde Sibelius’ symphonischer Erstling zu einem Übergangswerk zwischen Programmmusik und absoluter Musik. In der Mitte dieser skandinavischen Klammer steht Beethovens Klavierkonzert Nr. 3, das mit seinem träumerischen Mittelsatz bereits auf die Romantik vorausweist. Solist ist Rudolf Buchbinder, den die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung als einen der »wichtigsten und kompetentesten Beethoven-Spieler unserer Tage« bezeichnete.
