The Isarphilharmonie is open! To make your first visit to our new performance hall as pleasant as possible, we want to share some useful information today, based on lessons learned from the first three concerts on the recent Isarphilharmonie opening weekend.
The Isarphilharmonie is located on the Gasteig HP8 site, which was named after its address, Hans-Preißinger-Straße 8, 81379 Munich. As parking spaces are limited, we advise you to use public transport whenever possible. The free use of the MVV public transport lines on the day of the performance is included in the ticket price.
The foyer of the Isarphilharmonie is located in the striking Hall E. You can access the building via two entrances: the main entrance on the corner of Schäftlarnstraße and Brudermühlstraße, which you reach coming from Brudermühlstraße; and the side entrance on Hans-Preißinger-Straße, just a few steps past the bicycle parking spaces and then turning right around the corner of Hall E.
You can reach the first rows of the stalls via the ground floor of Hall E and the upper rows via the mezzanine. Access to the dress circle (»Balkon«) and gallery (»Rang«) is via the mezzanine and the first floor of Hall E. Hall E also has a lift to the mezzanine and first floor, providing wheelchair access to the dress circle. There is no lift to the balcony, which can only be reached via the staircases.
There are toilets on all floors in Hall E and cloakrooms on the ground floor and mezzanine. The cloakrooms are assigned to areas of the auditorium so that visitors are distributed as evenly as possible among the cloakrooms to avoid congestion when handing in or collecting coats. The cloakrooms on the ground floor is for the stalls and the gallery, the cloakrooms on the mezzanine serve the dress circle.
