Iason Keramidis

Iason Keramidis was born in Kavala, Greece in 1985. Receiving lessons from Prof Stelios Kafantaris aged 13, he studied at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart with Prof Ingolf Turban from 2003 and later at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe under Prof Ulf Hoelscher, graduating with distinction in 2009. Around the same time, Iason Keramidis was accepted into the soloist class at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe. In 2013 he completed his studies of chamber music under Prof Michael Uhde.

Through numerous appearances in countries such as Germany, the USA, China, the UK, Slovakia, France, Belgium, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Portugal and Brazil, he has become an internationally sought-after artist in recent years. As a soloist he appeared with the Sofia Symphonic Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, The City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc and the German Philharmonic Orchestra Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 1998 he has received numerous prizes and awards, including first places at the Panhellenic Competition in Athens, the ART competition for violin in Thessaloniki, the International Music Festival in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and the Competition of the Friends of the University of Music Karlsruhe with Astris Trio.

In 2013 he joined the first violin section of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, in 2018 he became Associate Concertmaster.
