Orchestra Academy

The orchestra Academy was founded in 1997 by the "Society of Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic". The goal of the Orchestra Academy is to prepare young, outstanding musicians in practical training for the high demands facing them as orchestra musicians.

Scholarship recipients

Those young musicians are being trained in the Orchestra Academy at the Munich Philharmonic.

Alexander technique

The scholarship holders have regular classes in the Alexander technique in order to prevent for example physical ailments and to expand tonal possibilities.

Vacancies in the Orchestra Academy

Young musicians who have not yet reached the age of 27 may apply for vacancies in the Orchestra Academy.


Many alumni of the Orchestra Academy of the Munich Philharmonic have found employment with prominent orchestras.

"Friends and Patrons"

The "Society of Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic" has been financing the Orchestra Academy since 1997.
