Dorothee Jansen

Soprano Dorothee Jansen was born in Bonn and began her career in 1997 as a member of the Cologne Opera. Two years later she decided to start working free-lance, so she could amplify her operatic activities with recital and concert dates. Dorothee Jansen has meanwhile appeared at the major opera houses of the world, such as the ones in Milan, Paris, Toulouse and Munich. From 1998 to 2001 she also guested at the Bayreuth Festival as a flower maiden in "Parsifal" and as Woglinde in "Rheingold". Concert tours have taken the singer, among other places, to Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Teatro Communale di Bologna and the Grand Théâtre de Genève. The conductors who have collaborated with her include Riccardo Muti, Sylvain Cambreling, Michael Gielen, Christoph Eschenbach, Eliahu Inbal, Helmuth Rilling, Dennis Russell Davies, Christopher Hogwood, Christian Thielemann and René Jacobs. In the recital field Dorothee Jansen works with her piano partner Francis Grier.
