You now have the unique opportunity of attending selected rehearsals and watching our chief conductor Valery Gergiev work with the orchestra, perfecting the details and creating harmony of sound. In selected rehearsals, he gives insights into his work with the Munich Philharmonic and allows the audience to experience the development of his interpretations first-hand. In our anniversary season, we have selected programmes especially conceived for this occasion. With Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony (11 October 2018), 4th Symphony and »Das Lied von der Erde« (both on 13 December 2018), the programme includes works that were premièred by the Munich Philharmonic. Anton Bruckner’s 4th Symphony and a specially commissioned composition by Wolfgang Rihm will be rehearsed on 21 March 2019. Note that the working language during rehearsals is English.

New: A free introduction will take place 30 minutes before the rehearsal.
