Tuuri Dede (born 1988) is a mezzo- soprano currently studying with Carola Guber in Leipzig. She earned her masters degree from Sibelus Academy in 2016 (with Annika Ollinkari), has previously graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (Teele Jõks) and studied a year at Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan (Cristina Rubin). Dede’s roles include Dorabella (W. A. Mozart “Così fan tutte”); Frida (K. Aho “Frida y Diego”); Ariel (J. Sibelius “Myrsky”); Mother, Dragonfly and Teacup (M. Ravel “L’enfant et les sortilègès”). Among other masterpieces she has performed as a soloist in Händel’s “Messiah”, “Judas Maccabeus” and “La Resurrezione”; Bach’s „Magnificat“ and Mass in B minor; Sibelius’s “Kullervo”; Mendelssohn’s “Lobgesang”; Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater”; Rossini’s “Petite messe solennelle”, Beethoven’s 9. Symphony; Respighi’s “Lauda per la nativitá del Signore” etc. As for competitions, she advanced to the semifinals of Wilhelm Stenhammar Competition in 2018; won the first prize in international competition “Havets Röst”; earned a finalist title and 3 special prizes in national Vello Jürna Competition in 2017 and won the first prize in national Mart Saar competition in 2016; in 2014 she won the fourth prize and Sibelius’s family prize in International Sibelius Singing Competition.
Dede has participated in masterclasses by Deborah Polaski, Elisabeth Werres, Gundula Hintz, Soile Isokoski, Kirsi Tiihoneni, Rudolf Piernay, Luana Devol, Jorma Silvasti, Franz Lukasovsky, Svein Bjorkoy, Mona Julsrud, Maris Kupcs, Helena Kaupova etc. and worked with orchestras like Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (cond. Peter Spissky and Kaspars Putninś); AIMA festival orchestra (cond. Orhun Orhon); Liepaja Symphony Orchestra (cond. Risto Joost); Corelli Baroque Orchestra and The Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra (cond. Martin Sildos); UTO Symphony Orchestra (cond. Kaspar Mänd); Estonian Music and Theatre Academy Symphony Orchestra; (cond. Tõnu Kaljuste, Toomas Kapten, Kaspar Mänd); Pärnu City Orchestra (cond. Erki Pehk); Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra (different conductors); Deutsch- Skandinavische Jugend-Philharmonie (cond. Andreas Peer Kähler) etc. In January 2016 Dede had her debut at the Berliner Philharmony.
