Since it was founded 30 years ago, the Children?s Chorus has been a permanent fixture at Munich?s State Theatre on Gärtnerplatz. It takes part in a number of opera productions, with such works as Humperdinck?s ?Hänsel und Gretel?, Bizet?s ?Carmen?, Massenet?s ?Werther? and Puccini?s ?La Bohème? figuring significantly in its repertoire. Outside the operatic field, the children?s chorus has an extensive song and concert repertoire, ranging from sacred music to jazz and gospel. The children?s chorus also appears with this repertoire in Munich?s major concert halls and takes part in a number of CD productions. Since January of 2004, the Children?s Chorus of the State Theatre on Gärtnerplatz has been directed by Verena Sarré.
