As the orchestra of the City of Munich, we enrich the cultural life of the Bavarian capital with a diverse program for young and old, and we are also at home in the world's great concert halls. Lahav Shani has been the chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic since the 2026–27 season. In the fall of 2025, Lahav Shani led the Munich Philharmonic on its European tour, performing in Lucerne, Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris, Luxembourg, and Vienna, among other cities. In the spring of 2026, the orchestra and Lahav Shani also began a three-year residency at the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence and traveled together for the first time to Taiwan, Korea, and Japan in May 2026.

With its orchestra academy, the Münchner Philharmoniker have been dedicated to helping young musicians embark on a life in the profession since 1997. They are supported by the Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic.
The Philharmonische Chor München is one of Germany’s premier concert choirs and partner choir of the Münchner Philharmoniker.
