As the orchestra of the City of Munich, we enrich the cultural life of the Bavarian capital with a diverse program for young and old, and we are also at home in the world's great concert halls. Lahav Shani will become chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra from the 2026/27 season. Until he officially takes up his post, he will conduct the orchestra at numerous concerts in Germany and abroad. In autumn 2025, they will be on a European tour (including Lucerne, Frankfurt, Paris, Luxembourg and Vienna), and in spring 2026, they will begin a three-year residency at the Festival de Pâques in Aix-en-Provence. Spring 2026 will see the first Asian tour under his baton.

With its orchestra academy, the Münchner Philharmoniker have been dedicated to helping young musicians embark on a life in the profession since 1997. They are supported by the Friends and Patrons of the Munich Philharmonic.
The Philharmonische Chor München is one of Germany’s premier concert choirs and partner choir of the Münchner Philharmoniker.
