Born in Hamburg, tenor Burkhard Fritz is just as much at home on the international operatic stage  he is in the concert hall.. He was a fest member of Berlin State Opera and has been working as a freelance artist since 2010. In addition to successful roles as Parsifal, Florestan, Lohengrin, Tannhäuser, Hoffmann or Paul in Die tote Stadt he is a highly regarded concert singer and interprets tenor parts in  Mahler‘s 8th Symphony or ‚ Das Lied von der Erde‘ in Beethoven‘s 9th Symphony. He has appeared at Bavarian State Oper, at Festivals in Bayreuth and Salzburg, at Teatro Real in Madrid, at La Monnaie in Brussels, at  Opera Frankfurt, in China and Japan, at Opera Leipzig, at Opera Amsterdam, at Maggio Musicale in Florence, in Tel Aviv, at Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, Semperopera Dresden and at State Opera Berlin. He had the pleasure to work with conductors as Daniel Barenboim,  Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev,  Mariss Jansons,  Paavo Järvi,  Philippe Jordan,  Zubin Mehta,  Kent Nagano, Andriss Nelsons and Simone Young.
