Enrique Ugarte was born in the Basque city of Tolosa and was already playing the accordion at the age of four. He studied accordion, oboe and composition at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in San Sebastián, completing his composition studies at the Music Academy in Munich. Beyond this, Enrique Ugarte was a conducting student of Sergiu Celibidache and Ernst Schelle. As a composer, he received commissions for film, theatre and symphonic music as well as opera and musicals. He has orchestrated and conducted more than 60 national and international film sound tracks, among others for the film ?Das Wunder von Bern? (?The Miracle of Berne?). Enrique Ugarte has collaborated as conductor with the English Chamber Orchestra, the NDR Radio Philharmonic in Hanover, the Basque National Orchestra, the Bremen Philharmonic, the Nuremberg Symphony and the Philharmonic of the Nations. As an accordionist he won the European Championship Title in Tilburg, The Netherlands and has concertized with Chick Corea in England and Spain, with Giora Feidman in Germany, Italy Luxenbourg and Israel and in a large number of telecasts in Germany, Spain and Russia.
