Michael Seltenreich

Michael Seltenreich, born in Israel in 1988 but now living in New York, first studied in his home town of Tel Aviv and later at the Juilliard School in New York. He is now one of the most interesting composers of his generation. For his orchestral work ‘Archetypes’ alone, he has won a whole series of international prizes, including first prize in the Toru Takemitsu Competition in Japan and the Juilliard Orchestral Music Competition. He was also honoured at the 2018 World Music Days in Beijing. Seltenreich's recipe for success is a direct and advanced, yet comprehensible musical language that is extremely colourful, rhythmically captivating, full of energy and technically sophisticated.
