Musik und Sprache

A peek behind the scenes

credit Andrea Huber

Music is a universal language that is understood throughout the world. It connects people and bridges boundaries between all cultures and walks of life. The initiative »Musik und Sprache« (Music and Language) is an exclusive offer for all those taking part in German classes at the Münchner Volkshochschule adult education centre (MVHS) to take a look behind the scenes of the Munich Philharmonic. As part of the language courses, lecturers from the MVHS give an introduction to classical music, while musicians from the Munich Philharmonic present their instruments and answer questions about music and working in an orchestra. Course participants then have the opportunity to attend a rehearsal or a concert to experience the musicians up close in the concert hall.
