Beate Springorum

Beate Springorum received her first instrumental instruction at the age of four on the violin. She initially trained as a violinist, then a few years later moved over to the viola. She rounded off her education in master classes with such prestigious instructors as Yuri Bashmet. After that, she acquired further experience as principal violist and partner in a number of renowned chamber music ensembles. After two decades spent in her adopted homeland of Italy, Beate Springorum returned to Germany in 2003, where she joined the viola section of the Munich Philharmonic.
