César Franck

César Franck is one of the most important composers of the 19th century and influenced an entire generation of composers in France. He was born in 1822 in Liège, Belgium. Mystical exaltation and transfiguration began during Franck's lifetime, with the image of the lonely, misunderstood genius completely immersed in his music at the organ of the Sainte-Clotilde church in Paris forming the defining guideline. In the meantime, this image has been thoroughly revised by recent research.
