Born in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, the musician completed his trombone studies with Branimir Slokar at the Music Academy in Bern. Dany Bonvin has won prizes at a number of international competitions (Vercelli, Toulon) and won the 1986 Swiss Soloist Prize (AMS Basel). In 1982, Dany Bonvin was engaged at the age of only 17 years as principal trombonist with the Munich Philharmonic. He has appeared as soloist with such significant orchestras as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and the Bern Symphony Orchestra. Dany Bonvin is a founding member of the Munich Trombone Quartet as well as a member of Bob Ross´s "Blechschaden" ensemble. He teaches as professor of trombone at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
