Emilio Yepes-Martinez started playing the contrabass at the age of eight. Initially studying under Ludwig Streicher, Rainer Zepperitz and Antonio García at the renowned Queen Sofía College of Music in Madrid, he continued his studies with Esko Laine at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and has already worked with renowned conductors and soloists as solo double bass player in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
A member of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008, Emilio Yepes-Martinez performs as a soloist with various orchestras throughout Europe and is also an internationally sought-after teacher. In addition to teaching various master classes, Emilio Yepes-Martinez is committed to supporting emerging artists as a lecturer for the Youth Orchestra of Central America.
