Julie Risbet

Viola player Julie Risbet studied with Jean Sulem at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, where she graduated with honours in May 2008. Subsequently, she continued her studies with Hariolf Schlichtig at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where she obtained two masters degrees: first in Viola in 2010 and then in chamber music in the following year.

A dedicated musician for chamber ensembles, Julie Risbet has been a guest at several festivals, including the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, the Kissinger Sommer Festival, the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, Festival Juventus and Festival de Paques de Deauville. She has performed with artists such as Nobuko Imai, Nikolaj Znaider, Guy Braunstein, Vadim Gluzman, Johannes Moser, Klaus Thunemann, Julian Bliss and Robert Holl. She regularly performs with the Voces Quartet.

Julie was awarded the third place prize at the 2007 International "Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen" and was invited several times by Seiji Ozawa to participate in his "International Academy Switzerland".

From 2011 to 2015 she collaborated with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Bamberg Symphony, Orchestre National de France and Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. From 2015 to 2017 she was third soloist viola at the Beethoven Orchester Bonn and is a member of the Munich Philharmonic since 2018.
