Alexander Preuß

At the age of 16, this musician from Berlin started taking piano lessons but soon discovered his great love for the double bass. In 1998 he began his training at the Academy of Music in Berlin, continuing on in Leipzig. Alexander Preuss regularly concertizes with the German Music School Orchestra, took part in the German Chamber Music Course in Waldenburg and has appeared frequently with Hellmuth Rilling's International Bach Academy in Stuttgart; since 2000 he has also worked as a substitute in the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Berlin and the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig. In the summer of 2003 Alexander Preuss received a two-year scholarship at the Orchestra Academy of the Munich Philharmonic, and today he is a member of the double bass section.
