The Salzburg bassoonist Johannes Hofbauer began his musical training with Gerti Hollweger at the age of six. He has performed as a solo bassoonist with orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Substitute positions have taken him to the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Vienna State Opera. From 2009 to 2011, Johannes Hofbauer was a scholarship holder of the Friends and Sponsors of the Munich Philharmonic. In November 2014, he completed his studies with honours in the class of Prof. Richard Galler at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Johannes Hofbauer became a member of the Munich Philharmonic in 2016. In 2023, he is launching a new concert format together with Ferdinand Porsche Erlebniswelten in his home town of Mattsee/Salzburg: »konzer(T)raum im fahr(T)raum«. There, he will present exciting programmes together with members of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and musical friends and companions.
