Valentin Eichler

Valentin Eichler studied with Tabea Zimmermann in Frankfurt and Berlin, as well as with Veronika Hagen at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. As participant of the Kronberg Chamber Music Academy 2000, he performed with Boris Pergamenschikow and Gidon Kremer. Under invitation of Thomas Demega he performed several times as a soloist at the Music festival in Davos.

He worked in many renowned orchestras, amongst others as the principal violist with the Camerata Salzburg, as well as a guest with the Berlin Philharmonic, the BR Symphony Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra as well as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. In 2002, Valentin Eichler was winner of the International Viola Competition in Slowenia. In 2004 he was presented with the Raiffeisen-Klassik Prize of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, as well as the first prize of the “Lionel Tertis” competition. From 2004 to 2006 he was a member of the Signum Quartett (Winner of the German Music Competition). The studies with the Alban Berg Quartett and the Artemis Quartett have furthered his artistry.

Since 2012, Valentin Eichler is a member of the Munich Philharmonic.
