Wolfgang Berg

Greatly influenced by his teachers, Rainer Moog and Hariolf Schlichtig, as well as the members of the Amadeus String Quartet, Wolfgang Berg concluded his studies at the Music Academy of Cologne by passing a concert examination. He was solo violist in the European Community Orchestra under Claudio Abbado and the German Chamber Music Academy in Neuss, and he played in the Camerata Academica under Sándor Végh, as well as in various configurations with the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Munich Philharmonic and, as solo violist of the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart, he has worked intensively with Hellmuth Rilling for several years now. He has recorded two CD´s with the "Enigma Ensemble", founded in 1989, featuring works by Beethoven and Strauss.
