Born in Moscow in January 1989, violinist Victoria Margasyuk received her first violin lessons at the age of four from G. Turchaninova at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory. During her studies with Professor K. Wegrzyn at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, she attended many international master classes with Ida Haendel, Shlomo Mintz and Zakhar Bron. Having made her debut as a principal with the orchestra of the Moscow State Conservatory at the age of 8, she gained concert experience in numerous European countries as well as in Korea, the USA, Canada and Israel. These concerts saw her perform in several major concert halls such as the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the George Weston Recital Hall in Toronto. She also took part in many well-known festivals such as the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Bowdoin International Music Festival in the USA and the International Holland Music Sessions. Victoria Margasyuk won first prizes at the Paul Hindemith International Violin Competition in Berlin and the International Competition of Young Violinists in Berlin. She was also a prizewinner at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in London and, in 2008, was awarded the Gundlach Music Prize. She was a fellow of LiveMusicNow Hannover and the SINFONIMA Foundation and, from 2013 to 2015, a member of the orchestra academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin. Victoria Margasyuk has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. Since 2018, she is a permanent member of the first violinists of the Munich Philharmonic.
