The clarinetist from Hungary grew up in a musical family and was already playing in a wind ensemble in his home town as a child. After the beginning of his studies in Hungary, Laszló Kurti transferred to the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, where he continued his training with Béla Kovács, then later with Gerald Pächinger. Laszló Kurti is a winner of the Concertino Prage International Music Competition and appeared as a young soloist in Prague, Vienna and Graz as well as in Japan. After completing his studies, Kurti became the principal clarinetest in the newly founded Hyogo Performing Arts Center Symphony Orchestra in Japan: three years oater he left that orchestra to work with Wenzel Fuchs as a scholarship student at the Ochestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. László Kurti has been principal clarinetist of the Munich Philharmonic since 2009. In addition to his work with the orchestra, he teaches as a clarinet tutor in the Orchestra Acacdemy of the Vienna Philharmonic in Ossiach.
